First, I had no problems with the staff or maintenance. They were always responsive and prompt in addressing any concerns. My issue with the place and why I wouldn't recommend The Trails is because of the noise, especially if you are on the bottom floor. The tenants in the apartment above can be heard simply walking and talking and if you have inconsiderate people around you then the problem is amplfied ten-fold. The Trails has plenty of people like this. It seems to be a popular place for students which means parties. If you like that, then The Trails are for you. If you are a working professional, then don't bother. The place is turning into a dump real quick and isn't helped by the quality of property next door at The Reserve. The Lenexa PD can be seen often between the two complexes, which somehow doesn't make me feel any safer.

More from Jabbersays: as I sat in my apartment at the Trails last night counting down the days until I move, I was reminded again just how poorly these apartments are built, which causes the excessive noise. First, the cabinets in the bathrooms and kitchens make a squeaky sound when you close them. Unless your neighbor above is very careful in closing cabinet doors then you can hear them all the time. The second thing is the sound the toilet above makes when flushed. It sounds like a waterfall running through the bathroom. I can hear it throughout my entire apartment. Never heard anything like it anywhere else. It's like the walls throughout the apartment are hollow.
